A Fronius központja és gyártása Ausztriában található, a gyártás Sattledt-ben van.
A cég 1945-ben kezdte működését, kezdetben és azóta is hegesztéshez gyárt transzformátorokat és invertereket.
Napelemes invertereket 1995 óta gyártanak. A Fronius-nak 17 országban 3250 alkalmazottja van.
Ma a világ öt legnagyobb inverter-gyártó egyikének számít a szolár inverterek területén.
Magyarországon piacvezető, az itthon szerelt rendszerek több, mint fele Fronius inverterrel épült ki (2013-as kiépítések alapján).
